What to Expect During Your Infusion Therapy Visit

Whether it’s your first infusion or part of an ongoing treatment plan, our team is here to ensure your visit is smooth, stress-free, and supportive from the moment you walk in.

Before Your Appointment

To ensure a smooth and comfortable experience, our team will handle insurance authorization and scheduling, and provide you with clear pre-visit instructions. Here's what you need to know:

Insurance Authorization & Scheduling
Once we receive your referral and prescription, our care coordination team will verify your insurance and obtain any necessary prior authorizations. We’ll call you to confirm your infusion schedule.

Pre-Visit Instructions
You'll receive guidance on whether to eat before your infusion, which medications you should or should not take, and any necessary labs or pre-medications.

What to Bring to Your Appointment

To help us provide the most accurate and efficient care, please bring:

Photo ID and insurance card

List of current medications

(prescriptions, over-the-counter, and supplements)

A sweater or blanket if you tend to get cold

Optional: book, tablet, or headphones for entertainment

When You Arrive

You’ll be warmly greeted by our front desk staff and checked in. If it’s your first visit, we’ll ask you to review and sign a few forms. Then, one of our infusion nurses will bring you back to your private or semi-private suite.

During Your Infusion

1. Comfortable Setting
  • Reclining infusion chairs
  • Personal lighting and optional blankets
  • Wi-Fi access, charging ports, and light refreshments
  • Family members may be allowed to accompany you (ask ahead)
2. Expert Monitoring

Your dedicated infusion nurse will:

3. Infusion Duration

Infusions may last anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours depending on the medication. You are welcome to relax, read, nap, or stream content during your visit.

After Your Infusion

Once the infusion is complete, we’ll observe you for a short time to ensure you’re feeling well. You’ll be given post-infusion instructions if needed, and we’ll schedule your next appointment or coordinate follow-up with your referring provider.

Side Effects & Support

Most patients tolerate infusion therapy well, but mild side effects can occur (e.g., headache, fatigue, low-grade fever). If anything unusual happens during or after your visit, our team is on call to help.
You’ll always leave with clear instructions on what to watch for and how to reach us.
