Rituxan® is a monoclonal antibody that targets CD20-positive B cells, which contribute to autoimmune and hematologic diseases. 
It is used in both rheumatology and oncology settings.

How It Works

Rituxan® binds to CD20, a protein on B cells, leading to their destruction. This reduces autoantibody production and immune system overactivity.

Infusion Schedule & Duration

  • Induction: 2 infusions, 2 weeks apart
  • Maintenance: Every 6 months
  • Infusion Time: 3–5 hours for initial doses
  • Pre-meds: Steroids, antihistamines, acetaminophen

  • Extended monitoring during infusion
  • Reduced frequency of treatment over time
  • Possible repeat lab testing to track response
