Referrals

How to Refer a Patient

You can refer a patient to Rheumatology Associates in just a few simple steps:

Complete our referral form

(PDF or EMR version available)

Attach recent clinical notes, labs, imaging, and current medication list

Fax to: 530.276.0077

OR Email us via: Referrals@RheumatologyClinic.com

Once received, our team will review the information, verify insurance, and contact the patient directly to schedule their first appointment. Most patients are contacted within 24–48 hours.

Who You Can Refer

Rheumatoid Arthritis occurs when your immune system mistakenly attacks the lining of your joints (the synovium). This leads to inflammation that can cause pain, swelling, and eventually joint deformity. Unlike osteoarthritis, which results from wear and tear, RA is driven by an overactive immune response.

You may refer patients to us for:

  • Rheumatology consultations (initial diagnosis, second opinions, or ongoing management)
  • Infusion therapy (biologics, iron, osteoporosis treatments, etc.)
  • Long-term disease monitoring and collaboration with PCP or specialist

We welcome referrals from:

  • Primary Care Physicians
  • Internists
  • Gastroenterologists
  • Dermatologists
  • Neurologists
  • Hematologists
  • Other Specialists
