What is Infusion Therapy?

Advanced Treatment Delivered with Precision and Compassion

Infusion therapy is the intravenous (IV) or injectable administration of medication directly into the bloodstream. It is used to treat a wide range of chronic and complex conditions when oral medications are ineffective, unavailable, or inappropriate.

At Rheumatology Associates, infusion therapy is one of our core services—delivered in a calming, comfortable outpatient setting by experienced nurses and overseen by board-certified specialists

Why Choose Infusion Therapy?

Some medications, especially biologics and specialty drugs used to treat autoimmune diseases, inflammatory disorders, gastrointestinal conditions, and iron deficiencies, are not effective when taken by mouth because they can be broken down in the digestive system. Infusion therapy ensures:

Rapid absorption for quicker therapeutic effects

Precise dosing for consistency and efficacy

Supervised delivery to monitor side effects and adjust care if needed
